Some time has passed, since last blog. I was thinking how blessed I, and my family are. We live in the country, South West Georgia, pecan trees, pear trees, apple trees, all in our yard. This year we have had a great garden, thank God. Liz and I have four great children, nine grand children, and one on the way. We also have four great grand children, and one grandchild TWO on the way.
God said, I knew you before you were in your mothers womb, I pray each of our children, grand children, great grand children, daughter in law, and sons in law are recorded in the book of life.
Rain is falling this Sept. 2th. A great day to be alive. I pray your family is doing great and that there names are written in the book of life. From Sowhatchee Hill, to your hill or valley, please pray for AMERICA, God bless, later, Riley

Living Threads

There is a building in our community that weaves a living thread into the cloth of our lives,
This thread is wool and cotton colored by colors unmatched by man made dyes,
And there are silk threads the colors of golden sunsets for those of us with special needs,
The cloth of our lives so interwoven carefully in rows of living threads like a planter
precisely seeds.
The building it's my church and it houses the spinning wheel,
From which theses living threads are spun.
And yes these living threads are her members stitching and weaving
striving to do as God would have done,
And the spinning wheel operated by some unseen force yet we know it spins for the living threads we see,
Could the force that drives the wheel be love sent from God received and passed on by plain folk like you and me?

It has been some time, but here we go. March 28 is a wet day here on Sowhatchee Hill, how ever I think spring has arrived, Daddy always said, when the pecan trees start to bud, you can plant your garden.  At his word, my garden is planted. We have tomatoes, corn, peppers, english peas, potatoes, egg plants, butter beans, snap beans, okra, colored peas, turnips, and squash, and onions. I did not realize we had planted this much.
The rain is comming down, pool needs to be pumped off, maybe later. Please pray for AMERICA and our TROOPS.  God bless, later,  Riley

Christmas and the new year have come and gone. I hope on your hill or valley, that every thing is going good. With slow down every where maybe we can slow down and enjoy some of the things we miss running 85..  Hope you don' tire of a poem every now and then.
                                     "TO PLANT A SEED"
To plant a seed, and watch it grow,
To up root a weed, you did not sow
To know the feel, of a bragging soil,
To watch with zeal, rewards of toil,
To see a baby chick, in grass too high,
To watch a calf kick, under a peaceful sky,
To be close to God, in a field of clover,
To know His sod, stretches the world over,
To plant a seed, and watch it grow,
To up root a weed, you did not sow.           Riley Anglin,   Please pray for America and our troops!
